Does It Really Do That? Turbo Jet

"It's about a $400 or $500 model, 1 man can put it in the truck and take it out himself. It takes about five to ten minutes for set up, and it will take gasoline," Dave told KDKA-TV news anchor/"Can It Really Do This?" Reporter Jennifer Antkowiak.

Dave and his clients love the results he receives, however, the notion of being able to use something lighter, and less expensive sounded interesting to him.

The Hydro Jet High Pressure Power Washer is designed to turn any garden hose into a power washer. The industrial shows it being used to wash all the sorts of things Dave works with.

He took a look at the Turbo Jet and liked a lot of the features. Plus, he said it seemed to be well-made.

It turns on and off real easy. It's an aluminum beam with some brass handles and brass links," he said.

Dave and Jennifer were at a patio that had some work. The Turbo Jet is assumed to be able to quickly and easily clean built up dirt, leaves, debris, and even algae.

The instructions and meeting were easy. Dave simply screwed the Turbo Jet want on a garden hose.

"There's not a whole lot of stress there," Dave stated. "I could get this using a hose."

The Turbo Jet did move some leaves and twigs, but not as efficiently as Dave had hoped. Considering that the marketing claims the Turbo Jet turns any hose into a power washer, Dave wanted to see whether it would clean dirt away concrete, which will be something he knows his pressure washer can perform.

Dave and Jen did notice a gap on the concrete, but Dave felt it was taking too much time, and wasn't happy with the quality. Again, he explained,"I believe I could find exactly the very same results from a hose nozzle."

Next, Dave attempted the Turbo Jet on the wooden deck. There again, it did some cleaning, but Dave just wasn't impressed.

"I don't see any algae at all being removed here, and I am holding it in an inch," he said.

He didn't feel much better about how it worked to clean dirt off sliding doors. Dave changed the attachment out to try out the Jet Spray nozzle.

Again, he didn't feel much of a difference in power as he travelled to work on some stone.

"I'm [going to] be here a very long time," he said.

For the sake of contrast, Dave wished to attempt cleaning a number of the same things with the normal garden hose sprayer.

"Jen, I think I'm getting more pressure from this, I really do," he said.

Dave felt like the hose did exactly the same, if not better moving debris and cleaning the window.

There was a big difference.

His washer easily cleaned the concrete, the algae off the wood decking and brick, dirt off the sliding glass doors and stones, and he blasted algae off a chair in seconds.

"Bang! Done!" He said.

So, the Turbo Jet promises to turn any garden hose into a power washer and then blast away dirt, debris and algae quickly and easily.

Does it really do this?

Dave gives it a thumbs down.

"It doesn't do a fantastic job, and it's just too time-consuming," he told Jen.

Review: buy i12 tws wireless earbuds

The i12 tws and the Inpods 12 are a very cheap (max. € 10) alternative to the well-known white earplugs from a fruity American brand. And wow, they can be so good. You can, because you just have to have the right one. In the meantime, lesser ears are also called 'i12'. They try to hitch a ride on success. But that doesn't make it any easier for us earplug enthusiasts. No worries: we looked it up for you and let you know in this article which i12 or Inpods 12 you should have.

WHICH I12 TWS EXIST?

You have the normal i12 tws earbuds and you have the InPods 12. The i12 are always white. The Inpods are matte white or have a color. There is 1 good version of both versions with exceptionally good sound for less than 10 euros. In addition, there are many versions that are less good. We put a lot of effort into finding the best (and probably original) version. But It worked!

Our test

We previously showed in our fake Airpods buying guide that the i-numbers that the earplugs have in practice say little. Often times, it is factories and earplug sellers who have picked up that a particular i-number is becoming popular and then they give their earplugs the same name. So for us it always takes a lot of work (and test purchases) to find out which earplugs are the best.

We tested a total of 17 different i12 and Inpods 12! This way you get the best information about which earplugs you can buy. Are you happy with that? Sign up for our notifications and emails about new tests. You may soon receive our pop-up asking if we can keep you informed. Doing so will keep you connected with us wirelessly on our new tests and buying tips.

The i12 tws are earplugs that cost around 10 euros. We therefore also assess the earplugs at that price. And let's get straight to the point: we do not understand how the maker earns money with these earplugs.

Sound

The sound is too good for the price. Of course you can hear that the somewhat lower tones do not come through great. You also hear (if you have the earphones in but are not listening to music) a kind of buzzing in your ear. It seems as if you hear the chipset do its job to maintain the connection with your phone. Of course you'd rather not hear that. But the tones while listening to music are genuinely good for the 10 euros you pay. Only the inpods are a bit better (and even cheaper) in our opinion.

Connect

Connecting is easy. Okay, when you switch it on you will hear a Chinese woman say: 'connected'. That has a cheap character. In addition, disconnecting at the ears is also not that easy. With the more expensive earplugs (such as the i500 tws), the earplugs disconnect immediately when closing the charging box. We did not get an i12 tws version that could do this. Anyway: that's why you pay less than 10 euros for the earplugs.

Siren lights in the earbuds

The moment you take the earplugs out of the box, the earplugs try to connect. You can immediately see this by the red and blue lights that go on. In turn, a blue and then a red light in the earbud turns on. By the way, you see those lights a little less with the colored inpods, but more about that in the InPods review below.

Both the i12 and the Inpods show a red / blue light when connecting. During use, the lights are always off.

Dial

There is a microphone in the earbuds. That means you can make calls with the i12 in your ear. Only we prepare you: don't expect too much from it. People understand you, but not clearly. Even if there is a small breeze, you can no longer be heard. The microphone is really a component of earplugs where the high end earplugs differentiate themselves from the cheap tws.

The Inpods are available in fun colors (pink, light blue, dark blue, gray, black, green, yellow). We tested them all because we wanted to exclude that not, for example, only white has good sound.

The InPods 12 tws are comparable to the normal i12, only they come in several different colors and they are matte instead of glossy. Much is the same as with the i12. Only in this case the price is slightly sharper.

Matte instead of gloss

The material is made of matte plastic. That feels very nice. It actually feels a little more premium than the i12's shine. Only they look less like the Airpods due to the matte plastic. But is that so bad? We don't think so. As far as we are concerned, it is an advantage that the earplugs are matte. Also with the black version (since the Inpods come in all colors) it looks super nice and dull.

Size of the Inpods 12

For many buyers it is important that the size of the earbuds is the same as the Airpods. Sometimes you see that earplugs have the same shape, but are suddenly a lot bigger. But we can assure you: the size of the Inpods 12 is the same as the size of the Airpods: 4.1cm.

Touch control

With the cheaper earplugs you often see that the touch does not respond completely correctly. Only in this case the touch control works exceptionally well. There are some things that the Chinese makers could have used a little smarter.

Tap once: pause / play

Tap twice: nothing (!)

Tap three times

right: previous song

left: next song

Two things stand out in the programming of the touch control.

First, we tried everything, but tapping twice was pointless. Until now, we haven't figured it out yet. You do? Let us know! Then we will complete this article.

Second: you can switch on the previous and the previous song by tapping 3 times. Only when you do that on the right earbud will you go to the previous track. And that is not intuitive. As far as we are concerned, left should be previous and right should be next. Anyway, it is not a big problem.

Sound

Our expectation with the Inpods i12 was that the sound (just like the price) was slightly less. But again we were completely surprised! The InPods i12 actually sound slightly better. The heavy tones come out a bit better. And that for around € 7. In addition, the earplugs are slightly better in terms of stability.

Volume at its highest

It was striking that the volume only started to hurt the ears when we set it to 75%. With many other earplugs that is already at 40%. The volume in the earbuds is therefore set very softly. This (in combination with the colors) make them very suitable for children.

Connect and disconnect

Connecting is easy. Okay, when you switch it on you will hear a Chinese woman say: 'connected'. That has a cheap character. In addition, disconnecting at the ears is also not that easy.

With the more expensive earplugs (such as the i500 tws), the earplugs disconnect immediately when closing the charging box. We did not get an i12 tws version that could do this. Anyway: that's why you pay less than 10 euros for the earplugs.

CONCLUSION

Finding the Inpods 12 is cheaper and better than the i12. We therefore recommend buying the Inpods. But be aware, we bought about 10 sets of Inpods from different sellers on Aliexpress. Clearly 1 of the versions was the original Inpods. And they were much better than the others.

Wash “used” masks?

Q “Heard on the news that hospitals are running out of KN95 masks, but I saw a Stanford study saying they can be washed, would that be a solution to the shortage?” asks Pierre Chartrand, from Montreal.
A The latest news is that there is currently no shortage of KN95 masks in Quebec, but authorities are preparing for this eventuality, as they are everywhere in the world.

The N95 mask is used to protect healthcare professionals from contact with pathogens in aerosols produced by individuals infected with viruses or bacteria. It is made of polypropylene. It generates static electricity that allows it to trap very small particles, up to 0.3 micrometers in diameter. A respirator mask is called KN95 when it meets the standard set by the American National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). To be approved, it must be able to filter at least 95% of particles in the air free of oil (hence N) when tested with particles 0.3 micrometers in diameter. It needs to fit very tightly to the face and is not effective if the person has a beard.

The mask should be replaced at most every eight hours, or when leaving a high risk area, or when it becomes too inconvenient for breathing. According to NIOSH, there is no way to determine whether a mask is still effective or not, and many parameters can influence how quickly it might lose effectiveness: ambient contamination, temperature and humidity, the fact that the person wearing it touches the mask more or less with more or less contaminated hands or gloves, etc.

As part of its pandemic preparedness work, NIOSH issued a comprehensive advice on best practices for saving masks, which many people now use as a benchmark. The American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also propose a strategy to adopt in the current context.

The study you are talking about is actually a real-time knowledge assessment carried out by medical researchers at Stanford University to help anesthesiologists in their decision-making in the context of COVID-19. The version I checked out is from March 25, but it's worth checking for updates. Their first advice to caregivers: follow the guidelines of their hospital.

An effective washing method for masks must both destroy the virus on the mask, be non-toxic to the wearer of the cleaned mask, and not damage the mask's ability to filter particles.

Stanford researchers report in a table the tests carried out recently by the company 4C Air with different techniques. Spending the mask for 30 minutes in hot air at 70 degrees, or 10 minutes in boiling water vapor appears to be effective in clearing the virus, and preserving the mask's ability to filter air. Disinfection with chlorine or alcohol, on the other hand, has greatly reduced the effectiveness of the masks, and researchers tell anesthetists not to do it.

They also report the results of a study published in 2009 on five methods of decontaminating N95 masks - proof that the subject has been in the air, so to speak, for quite some time. The researchers then tested in particular the decontamination by treatments with microwaves, chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, UV and ethylene oxide, but without evaluating the residual viral load.

This is all subject to change, however, as two studies do not constitute very strong evidence.

Last Friday, the Journal of the American Medical Association appealed to the scientific community to quickly carry out new studies on this subject and scientific publications are likely to multiply rapidly, because the stakes are high.

In summary, therefore, yes, there are probably effective methods to reuse masks, only, as of today, we do not yet have the reliable data that would allow us to identify the best technique, but that s 'comes.

OUR ADVICE FOR CHOOSING YOUR WINE GLASS (2020 GUIDE)

Difficult to decide when buying your wine glasses as the offer is wide and varied. Which glass to choose for which type of wine? What form of glass should you choose? What glass to fully appreciate the tasting? So many questions that require a simple answer, without going through four paths. Glass plays a decisive role during tasting, and we will see why. This article will give you the essential advice for choosing the right tasting glass, step by step.

THE IMPORTANCE OF GLASS DURING A TASTING:
Wine lovers will tell you! A suitable glass will provide an enriched wine experience. Advice on choosing a wine glass is therefore welcome.

The tasting glass is a stemmed glass, which keeps the wine at a good temperature.

Note: you should always hold your wine glass by the foot (leg), not by the base. This then avoids the hot water effect which can heat the wine. During a tasting, the temperature of the wine is very important. Do not hesitate to do a short search on Google to determine the ideal temperature for the wine you want to taste.

Are you organizing an evening with friends? Are you a wine lover? A fun game is to taste the same wine in different types of glasses.

The wine will then be expressed differently depending on the structure of the latter; if you are used to the exercise of tasting, you will feel these nuances and determine preferences. Again, this proves the importance of choosing the right wine glass.

Remember the glass lexicon, these terms will be important for the rest of our article:

THE OENOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE GOES THROUGH THE VIEW, OPT FOR A CRYSTAL GLASS:
The first thing you see in a person is how they look. This will give you information about the person. It's the same with wine.

Yes, we taste (also) with our eyes. Tableware is part of this pleasure. And it's not just a scientifically proven figure of speech. Humans subjectively perceive and perceive what they see.

Is your glass clean? How transparent is it? What is its shape? These questions are the brevaries of a successful tasting.

A beautiful crystal glass, bright, fine, slender and elegant, will set the tone for the tasting. The first and felt contact with the wine depends on the quality of the glass.

With an expert eye, admire the color of the wine, its appearance (its clarity as well as its brilliance). You can even determine the dominant grape variety there.

A fun little test with friends is to have the same type of wine tasted in a beautiful tasting glass, and the other in a simple bistro wine glass. The verdict will be final.

Advice for choosing a wine glass: avoid tasting glasses with cut patterns, this reduces the pleasure of admiring the wine's robe.

Be careful to clean your glasses well before use. About this topic, find out how to clean the crystal effectively by clicking here!

THE OENOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE GOES THROUGH SMELL:
Once the visual analysis is done, it’s the smell's turn to take action.

Aromas are volatile molecules. To perceive these aromas as well as possible, it is necessary to favor this volatile nature, this is why young wines are decanted (discover our TOP 5 decanting decanters).

On contact with oxygen, the wine will then release its aromas. This is called oxygenation.

It's the same principle that applies to Shark Wine Glass. The glass aims to promote this character of diffusion, up to your nose.

This is how glassware, often under the guidance of wine experts, develops glasses with the optimal "shoulder diameter / drinker diameter" ratio. This is the case for the Austrian glassworks Zalto.

Baccarat has also collaborated with Jean-Charles Boisset, a figure in the French wine landscape, but also foreign.

Today owner of 800 hectares in the heart of the most prestigious terroirs, from Burgundy to the south of France, from Napa Valley to Sonoma in California, Jean-Charles Boisset has brought all his expertise and know-how for the realization of the JCB Passion service, consisting of a wine carafe, a champagne carafe, a wine glass and a champagne glass.
